Overview

Influencing other people is a key skill for product managers and leaders to develop - in fact, you don't achieve career progression without mastering it! In my coaching practice it's one of the top reasons clients work with me: they want to increase their influence at work, particularly with senior leaders.

Here's some common issues that come up around influencing others:

Does any of this sound familiar?

One way you might consider how to increase your influence is by taking a course on how to do that (like this one!) - and I've seen many courses on how to influence stakeholders. These often go into frameworks and tools that you can use to map and analyse your stakeholders. Whilst these certainly have some use, I believe there is something more fundamental missing in these.

So instead of repeating what you might have heard elsewhere, this email course is going to take a look at influence from the psychological perspective.

I want to teach you the social, cognitive and emotional processes at play - and how you can use this knowledge to increase your own influence with others.

But first, a public service announcement. This course isn't about learning how to manipulate other people - that would be deeply unethical! Instead, it's about understanding how you can increase your personal effectiveness. This knowledge will enable you to be more influential with the people you work with.

Sound good? Let's dive in.
